In October 2022, Salem Tattoos inquired about the creation of a website for their new shop that was opening in Brookdale, CA on Jan 3. 2023.
During our first meeting, we brainstormed color, typography, layout, and site features; coincidentally we instantly saw eye-to-eye, with almost identical visions for the site in our initial site plan sketches, which accelerated the early development tremendously. After discussing with the client about what was best for their needs and budget, we decided to build their project on Wix.
For the aesthetics of the site, the color palette was a direct reference to the main colors found within the shop. The typography was based on the two fonts used for the logo (Alevattros & Tattoo Shop), in addition to Mops Antiqua which was used for paragraph text, as it maintained the tattoo shop aesthetic and was readable when the font is small.
